Phytoway Inc. was set up in June 2001 and has a registered capital of 10.5 million Yuan (about 1.27 million U.S. dollars). It is an export¨Coriginated high-tech enterprise, which is engaged in herb-planting, resear-ching, developing, producing and marketing standar-d ized herbal extracts, Chinese herbal preparations and western medicine. Phytoway Inc. purchased a piece of land with an area of about 4 hectare in Liuyang Biomedical Zone, where 50 million Yuan (about 6 million U.S. dollars) had been invested to set up a new plant complying with national GMP, which includes a standardized herbal extract production center, a modern TCM production center and a researching and testing center. Phytoway Inc. got the own Self-management Export and Import Right since June 2001 and has been exporting herbal extracts and the finished products into other countries. The primary products are standardized herbal extracts, pharmaceuticals and health foods.
Phytoway Inc. is the primary initiator, deputy Commissioner of the ¡°Plant Extract Council¡± under China Chamber of Commerce of Medicines & Health Products Importers & Exporters (CCCMHPIE) and is also authorized by CCCMHPIE to establish the criterion for single plant extracts. In October 2002, Phytoway Inc. was honored to take over the ¡°State High-tech Industrialization Model Project¡± from the State Development Planning Commission, China. In January 2003, Phytoway Inc. received the GMP certificate from the State Food and Drug Administration, China and becomes the only Chinese GMP certified enterprise, which specializes in producing and exporting herbal extracts.
